                                     Buying a Toyota Is an Investment in America
Toyota has been doing business in America since 1957. Toyota now sells the #1 car in the U.S. (Camry); Toyota is the #1 selling automobile brand; and Lexus is the #1 luxury brand. By buying a Toyota, Americans are investing in the economic health of the country. Here are some other key statistics on Toyota’s impact in America:

 Direct U.S. employment: 33,871 Americans (manufacturing, marketing, distribution) – (CY2008) more Americans than General Mills, Texas Instruments or Mattel (Forbes)

 Toyota and Lexus dealers directly employ another 116,575 Americans (CY2008)

 Together, we account for 150,446 American workers

 Our suppliers employ 49,383 U.S. workers, and together with 3,039 contract workers, that brings Toyota’s total to 202,868

 Every direct job created by Toyota and its dealers generates spin-off jobs. A 2006 study by the Center for Automotive Research calculated that, adding direct, supplier and spin-off jobs together, Toyota is responsible for over 380,000 American jobs.

                                                   Manufacturing
 Toyota designs and engineers vehicles in the United States, including Avalon, Sienna, Tundra and Venza.

 Toyota has produced vehicles in America since 1986. It now has 10 U.S. vehicle and parts manufacturing facilities in Alabama, California, Kentucky, Indiana, Missouri, Tennessee, Texas and West Virginia. An 11th plant is planned for Mississippi.

 Toyota assembles 10 models in the United States. All U.S.-market Avalon, Camry Hybrid, Sequoia, Sienna, Solara, Tundra and Venza vehicles are assembled in U.S. plants as well as many of the Corollas, Camrys and Highlanders sold in the U.S.

 Toyota assembled a total of 1.1 million vehicles in the United States during CY 2008, more than half of all Toyota vehicles sold here.

 Toyota purchased $29.9 billion in goods, parts and components from nearly 500 U.S. suppliers located in 35 states (CY2008).
