What's New for the 2018 Toyota Corolla?

For 2018, Toyota's designers decided to equip the Corolla with some of the latest accident-mitigation technology. The Toyota Safety Sense P (TSS-P) is a standard package that's loaded with industry-leading active safety features. Running on radar sensors, the Pre-Collision System identifies the slightest threat of a crash with another car that's in front of you. When an impact is imminent with another vehicle or pedestrian, you'll receive audio and visual warnings in the instrument cluster and dashboard. The brakes might be automatically depressed by the Pre-Collision System. Additional stopping force is delivered by the Brake Assist function. The TSS-P also includes the Lane Departure Alert that determines if you inadvertently cross over the markings of a given lane. Dangerous drifting is immediately corrected by the Steering Assist technology. When you're driving faster than 25 MPH at night, the Automatic High Beams (AHB) will control the intensity output of the headlamps. Another innovative feature that comes with the TSS-P label is the Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. Installed into the front grille, a forward-facing radar sensor precisely estimates the distance to another automobile ahead. This auto pilot can accelerate and slow down the Corolla based on threat levels in real time. In the passive safety category, this compact Toyota has also been enhanced in terms of injury mitigation. Eight air bags and the Whiplash-Injury-Lessening (WIL) front seats provide excellent protection against trauma to the neck.

The Entune multimedia system in the 2018 Corolla has been upgraded to deliver convenient connectivity to an array of digital applications. A 7.0-inch display with a touch-screen interface serves as your portal into GPS navigation software and many other utilities. Destination Search and Yelp supplement the directions that are delivered in real time. Your favorite music is accessible on Pandora Internet Radio, Slacker Radio, HD Radio and SiriusXM Satellite Radio. The Gracenote album cover adds some extra fun to your music on the go. Six total speakers are strategically installed throughout the Corolla's compact cabin. Multiple USB 2.0 ports, wireless Bluetooth and an auxiliary jack expand the connectivity options in this Toyota. For its relatively affordable price tag, the Corolla offers some of the best value in digital technology. Additionally, the car's 4.2-inch Multi-Information Display introduces sporty styling and functional utility to the modern cockpit. Even the paddle shifters have been slightly redesigned for a more harmonious appearance and layout on the steering wheel.
